Edgar Wright’s ‘The Running Man’ Adds Karl Glusman
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Paramount‘s reboot of The Running Man from director Edgar Wright has added Karl Glusman to the growing cast which includes Glen Powell, Katy O’Brian, and Daniel Ezra.
Wright will also produce with his producing partner Nira Park and Simon Kinberg. The Baby Driver filmmaker co-wrote script with Michael Bacall based on the Stephen King novel that was published under his then pen name of Richard Bachman.
There was a 1987 movie made from that which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. King’s futuristic novel is a chase thriller set in a dystopian America in the year 2025.
The story centers on Ben Richards, a desperate man who participates in violent reality show called The Running Man in order to win enough money to revive his gravely ill daughter.
