Ed Sheeran’s trademark glasses are now purely for show after laser surgery corrected his vision. The singer, 30, says they now have plain glass in as the surgery, which took just 45 seconds per eye, gave him back 20/20 sight.

He said: “I’ve seen through Perspex for the past 28 years and then opening my eyes after laser surgery everything was like full colour, I could read everything, it was amazing. “I would highly recommend it for anyone.” The star added to iHeart Radio in Canada: “I’m so annoyed I didn’t get it done before, I’ve missed out on 10 years of awesomeness.” Ed, who lives with his wife Cherry on a £3.7million estate in Framlingham, Suffolk, is on course for his 10th No1 with Bad Habits.
