Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.
The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.
Ed Sheeran has gushed about his love of being a father to his two young daughters as he declared: "It's great being a girl dad".The global singing superstar, 32, appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV as he promoted his new album, Subtract and latest single, Eyes Closed.
As Jonathan asked him about his two young daughters, Lyra, two, and Jupiter, 10 months, Ed, 32, sweetly said that he loves being a father to girls.
He said: "It's great. It's great being a girl dad. I just love having daughters.They're the best".To which Jonathan asked if his children like his music and whether he sings to them.
With Ed sweetly sharing: "Yeah, actually, but very much, you know what kids are like, they kind of get obsessed with one thing and they want that over again. "So they don't like the extensive catalogue but they might be like, play Shivers!" He shares both daughters with his wife, Cherry Seaborn, who he married in 2019, after first meeting her in high school.
