Can Ed Sheeran defend a second week at Number 1 from Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding?

officialcharts.comAfter becoming Ed Sheeran’s 14th Number 1 single last week, Eyes Closed will have to defend its position at the top of the Official Singles Chart, as Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding fight to overtake it.
On Friday, Ed's newest single - produced by Max Martin, Shellback and Fred again.. - debuted at Number 1, ending Miley Cyrus' 10 week long reign with Flowers.
Ed now draws level with Cliff Richard and Westlife as the act with third-most chart-toppers in UK chart history. As it stands, only Elvis (21) and The Beatles (17) have more Number 1s.
Adding to that, Ed now also has the fifth-most Top 10 entries of any artist in Official Charts history. So it was a very impressive week overall.
