EastEnders star Aaron Thiara was stunned when he won Best Villain at the British Soap Awards – revealing he flunked 109 auditions before he landed the role of Ravi Gulati.

Now the popular star is praying Ravi won’t be killed off after a flash-forward scene revealed there will be a dead body on the floor of The Queen Vic this Christmas! “Ravi does have a fair few enemies at the moment and he’s set to make more – it gets bigger and more intricate in the build-up to Christmas,” teased Aaron. “However, I’ve had messages from viewers saying they hope it’s not Ravi on the floor. "So, it’s very nice to know that he does have a few of the fans’ hearts – although I don’t know how we have achieved it because he’s done some pretty horrible things!” At the British Soap Awards, Aaron showed viewers his flamboyant side as he wore a striking peach and beige suit to collect his gong.“I dress a certain way as Ravi on-screen, so I do enjoy the chance to be a bit more extroverted and flamboyant,” he confessed.

Full of courtesy, Aaron first thanked the show’s fans as he accepted the award. But it was the reaction of his Walford family that struck him as he stood on stage. “Seeing and feeling the love from my colleagues as I collected the award was more than I could ever imagine,” he said. “Everyone celebrating was just beautiful.

I think that will probably be the most memorable moment rather than getting on stage.” Aaron only joined EastEnders last July, but he soon proved his villainous credentials, committing murder then framing family friend Suki for the crime.
