EastEnders legend reveals huge lie she told bosses to land role on BBC One soap

Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon Watts in EastEnders, has revealed the significant fib she told to secure her role on the soap.

The 56 year old actress first appeared on the show back in 1985 and is one of the few original cast members still present. Her character, Sharon, has been a central figure in the drama of Walford since the beginning.

From her affairs with the Mitchell brothers to the sudden death of her adoptive mother Angie Watts, Sharon's life in the famous square has been filled with turmoil and sorrow.

Recently, she and the rest of 'The Six' have been dealing with the cover-up and murder of Sharon's lover Keanu Taylor (played by Danny Walters).
