Aaron Connolly has boosted his EK Thistle squad with the addition of three fresh faces. The Showpark side have brought in wide players Lewis Archer and Michael Blues, formerly of Lanark and Shotts, respectively, and defender Sam Kent from Shotts to strengthen for their West of Scotland Third Division push. It's a big boost for the club following the revelation from Connolly that a whopping 24 players had left the club since the start of the season, with 44 players used across the campaign so far.Connolly’s men have been sidelined for over a month after their WOSFL Cup tie with BSC Glasgow B was postponed for a fourth time on Saturday, but they are due to return to league business this weekend at Saltcoats Victoria with fresh blood in the squad.Boss Connolly said: “We’ve added a few this week so we are feeling stronger in terms of numbers.“We’ve been working on Lewis, Sam and Michael for a couple of weeks over the Christmas period so we are delighted to add them to the squad.”The BSC clash has now been moved to a midweek date on an artificial surface, at Benburb's New Tinto Park, as ninth-place Jags try to focus on facing second-bottom Saltcoats.Connolly added: “The weather has been particularly challenging recently but it disappointing not to play again at the weekend.“The BSC game has been moved to a neutral ground on an astro pitch on Tuesday, January 24 (kick-off 8pm)."But fingers crossed we can start playing football sooner because it will be five or six weeks since we last played.“Saltcoats gave us a tough game earlier in the season.

They were young and fit, and we scored a last minute winner so it will be another tough one.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInsta
