East Kilbride MP backs charity call for end to cruel animal testing

East Kilbride's MP has thrown her weight behind an RSPCA call for the UK Government to lead efforts in banning the use of animals in research and testing.Dr Lisa Cameron's support comes after a recent House of Commons drop-in event which revealed tens of millions of animals are used in research and testing globally each year, including around three million in the UK.The RSPCA is calling for the UK Government to lead the way by agreeing that ‘phasing out’ the use of animals in science is a desirable goal, and setting out a clear strategy for achieving this.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
