East Kilbride Christmas Kindness appeal distributes more than 2700 gifts and toys

An East Kilbride Christmas Kindness appeal spearheaded by a local charity distributed more than 2700 toys and gifts this Christmas to those who would have otherwise gone without.Led by Share Alike, who provide a raft of support services to those struggling to get by, the campaign was supported by an overwhelming community response with a number of groups, businesses and organisations in the town lending a helping hand.The charity teamed up with EK, East Kilbride as well as others who provided drop-off points for gifts in the run up to Christmas and a Kindness tree allowed supporters to pick a gift tag and pledge to donate for a specific age group.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
