Earl Cameron has died at the age of 102. The Bermuda-born star, who lived with his wife in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, died in his sleep on Friday, family friend Martin Beckett said.
The pioneering actor was one of the first ever black actors to star in a British film, playing the role of Johnny Lambert in 1951's Pool of London He was also known for starring in the Tenth Planet episode of Doctor Who in 1966, as well as a role in 1965 James Bond movie Thunderball.
Earl was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2009 New Year Honours. He is survived by his wife Barbara and his six children.
