Eamonn Holmes pondered moving back to Ireland to "marry a local girl" prior to his split from Ruth Langsford. GB News host Eamonn and Loose Women star Ruth announced on 25 May that they've decided to call time on their 14-year marriage.

The news was shared in a joint statement, which read: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” Eamonn, 64, has since thanked fans for their support, while Ruth, also 64, has remained silent on the split.

A chat with Eamonn where he discussed relocating back to his hometown of Belfast has now resurfaced.The interview took place in November 2023 on VTV's Conversations With Gerry Kelly.

He opened up about experiencing a difficult time in his life, including losing his job, his mum and his home in Belfast. He also spoke about his health battles and shared how Belfast will always be home. "Ruth wouldn’t come back to Northern Ireland.
