Battling chronic back pain that necessitated a wheelchair at the event, Eamonn admitted he felt like he was on "borrowed time", noting his father's untimely death at 65 from a heart attack in 1991.
Now 64, Eamonn has faced several health challenges in recent years, culminating in the announcement of his divorce from Ruth last month.
Despite considering skipping the awards due to intense pain, Eamonn made it with the help of his new high-tech chair. "I wasn't going to come, but I've got this new chair with all these gadgets," he remarked.
