Eamonn Holmes was reportedly "angry" after it was revealed on Saturday that his 14-year marriage to Ruth Langsford had come to an end, with no explanation given for their separation.
A spokesperson told The Sun at the time: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” It has now been claimed that Eamonn, 64, only found out about the statement shortly before it was released, and he had "no power over it" with Ruth's team being solely behind writing and releasing it.
A pal of Eamonn was quoted in the Mail saying: "Eamonn was left blindsided, it was awful for him. He literally found out about it a very short time before it was published – you're talking hours. "It all seems a little bizarre given that the statement said they were hoping to keep it amicable.
Eamonn wanted no part of it, he couldn't see any reason why you would release that statement. It was wholly written and signed off by Ruth and her team.
