Eamonn Holmes has caused concern among friends after announcing he was "on borrowed time", following the end of his marriage to Ruth Langsford.The TV star, who, according to reports, is leaning on his female pals for support since their split, plans to keep it civil with his soon-to-be ex-wife.

Chatting about the current state of their relationship, Eamonn said: "It's too early to say, but I hope we can still be friends," reports Best magazine.

Eamonn was spotted using a walking frame at the TRIC awards last month, reports the Express. Making light of the situation when picking up an award for best breakfast show, the 64 year old joked: "I went for an operation a year and a half ago and it went wrong.

So I got two things in my back that I didn't want." The Belfast-born presenter has admitted it has "not been a good time at all".
