People who are on certain means-tested benefits are eligible for the payments, which are worth £25 each time the temperature drops below zero for seven consecutive days.
The payments, which are aimed at helping people to keep their homes warm, are calculated based on postcode region, so some people may be owed more than one payment if the threshold has been reached in their area on multiple occasions.
