Carolyn Giardina The Advanced Imaging Society has announced the winners its 15th annual Lumiere Awards, recognizing creative and technical achievements in entertainment. “Dune: Part Two” was recognized for best live action film, best use of HDR in a feature, and best scene for the sandworm riding sequence. “Wicked” was honored for best musical and music-themed scene or performance for “Defying Gravity.” The judges voted “The Wild Robot” best animated film.
Additional feature honorees include “Alien: Romulus” (best audio), “Deadpool & Wolverine” (best 2D to 3D conversion), “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” (best documentary) and “Moana 2” (best song, for “Beyond”).
Among the episodic series category winners are “Shōgun” (best live action episodic and best use of HDR), “Arcane” Season 2 (best animated episodic), and “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” (best audio).
Topping the category for best live event cinema experience was Sphere Entertainment for “V-U2 An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas,” which features U2’s residency at Sphere.
