Duffy reveals details of horror rape ordeal ‘to help others who have suffered the same’

The Welsh singer, whose full name is Aimee Duffy, first told of her ordeal in February. But it's the first time she's given details of the terrifying experience, which led to her retreating from the spotlight.

In a post on Instagram, the star said she was drugged at a restaurant on her birthday, held captive in her home and then taken to a foreign country.Revealing more details, Duffy, 35, said: "It was my birthday, I was drugged at a restaurant, I was drugged then for four weeks and travelled to a foreign country.

I can't remember getting on the plane and came round in the back of a travelling vehicle."I was put into a hotel room and the perpetrator returned and raped me.
