Drivers are being warned to expect disruption near Manchester city centre as part of a Salford road closes for almost two months.
Irwell Street will be closed to traffic heading towards the city centre from Monday, March 4, until the end of April. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) says delays are likely on surrounding roads as a result - including Chapel Street, Bridge Street and Liverpool Road.
The closure is part of an improvements scheme for Trinity Way and Irwell Street, with improved facilities for cycling and walking, TfGM says.
A signposted diversion will be in place along Chapel Street, Bridge Street and Deansgate. In an update on the TfGM website about the roadworks, a spokesperson said: "Salford City Council are committed to supporting the improvement of neighbourhoods around the district to ensure that everyone can get on and get around easily.
