Driver 'drinking can of beer nearly had head on collision', say police

To keep up with Trafford news sign up to the MyTrafford newsletter here Police say a driver narrowly avoided a head on collision with another car in Manchester this evening - whilst drinking beer from a can of beer.

And the drink drive suspect has two previous convictions for the offence - and had only just got his licence back -said Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

GMP Traffic officers arrested the motorist near Urmston on suspicion on drink driving this evening. It is alleged he narrowly avoided a head on collision with another car whilst drinking beer from a can.

GMP traffic officers stopped the vehicle and breathalysed the suspect found to be over the drink driver limit at 108mg. The legal limit is 80mg.
