Mobile phone footage captured the dramatic moment firefighters tackled a car blaze near Manchester city centre tonight. The Fiat 500 burst into flames after waiting at lights in Blackfriars in Salford.
Eye-witnesses reported the driver managed to get out and called the emergency services when his attempts to tackle the fire failed.
Moments later firefighters from Salford Central fire station were on the scene to douse the flames as residents and passers-by watched the drama unfold. I'm very happy nobody got injured. "It was just on my way home when I saw it. I could see a person running around with a small extinguisher trying to put it out.
