Members of a Glasgow gym got the fright of their lives when a window smashed during the high winds. The recently built Puregym in Giffnock remained open during the storms and those who went for a morning work out got a shock after one of the panes of glass shattered right in front of them around 11:30am.

Matthew Hill, 20, from Clarkston was there with his girlfriend Amber Kinch, 19, to work out for their TikTok page MAFitness when the incident happened. He said: "The wind was blowing against the door to ceiling glass windows of Puregym when we got there."We went for a workout this morning and were very nervous driving as the car was shaking. "We were surprised the gym was open given the warnings but decided to go for our daily workout.

It was much quieter than usual and there were only about five or ten people using the facilities. We were at lat pull down machine and the window was to the side of us.

We heard it shaking in the wind during our half hour workout and then it just shattered.
