The dinner was red, white, and blue themed—a nod to both countries' flags, and, according to Biden “our common values: liberty and democracy, equality and fellowship.” First ladies Macron and Biden chose looks that further underscored night's theme.
Dr. Jill Biden chose a navy column gown by Oscar de la Renta with an off-the-shoulder neckline, long sleeves, and a botanical lace pattern that revealed nude lining underneath.
Biden has a —she wore Markarian for the inauguration, and frequently wears Adam Lippes—and continued this streak by choosing Oscar de la Renta, currently helmed by Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia.
