Plans for 80 new affordable homes in the Old Trafford area have been given the go-ahead. The scheme for Warwick Road South has been approved by Trafford's planning and development management committee.
It was submitted by Southway Housing Trust and Victor (Old Trafford) Ltd - a joint venture between MC Construction and the McGoff Group - to demolish the predominantly vacant buildings on the site opposite the Old Trafford Metrolink stop, and build one five-storey and two four-storey apartment blocks.
All the homes, which are either one or two bedrooms, will be provided on an affordable basis and are being delivered by Southway Housing Trust.
In total, 22 car parking spaces will be provided to the rear of the buildings and two areas of outdoor amenity space are planned.
