Both Dunkin' Donuts and Tim Hortons have lodged planning applications to take over vacant sites in the city. If plans go ahead, the two businesses will be a stone's throw from one another in the city centre.
Dunkin' has applied to take over the old Fatso's sandwich shop at 77 Piccadilly, just off Piccadilly Gardens. The American fast food brand opened its first city centre site on Deansgate back in February, where its had queues out of the door from day one.
