Two men stole thousands of pounds from the corner shop where they worked then tried to stage a burglary to cover their tracks.

Shop workers John Mozley and Ben Tyler abused their positions by repeatedly swiping cash from the tills and safe. After they planned a burglary in a bid to account for the missing funds, Mozley - who was the store's manager - handed in his notice.

The 55-year-old was caught on CCTV stealing money and stock from the shop in Warrington. Both men were jailed at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday (August 20).
