Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.

He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Previously, prosecutors have said that Trump took over 300 classified documents to Mar-a-Lago after leaving the White House in January 2021, and close to 100 of those documents were seized during an FBI raid in August 2022.
The new criminal charges means that Trump is now a defendant in a second case after he was indicted back in March in the state of New York over his role in hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.
