Luke Shaw caused quite a stir on social media after appearing to agree that Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial stood little chance of returning to Manchester United's starting line-up.

Rashford and Martial were both dropped on Wednesday evening as United beat Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford, with both goals coming from Scott McTominay.

The pair started at Newcastle on Saturday but were both abysmal before being hooked by Erik ten Hag on the hour mark. In their absence, United produced one of their better performances this season back at Old Trafford and there was a stark contrast between their lack of effort and the energy coming from the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony.

Supporters have long called for Rashford to be dropped amid a baron run of one goal all season.
