Police have launched an investigation after a dog died and a man was hospitalised following a crash in Ayrshire yesterday.A van and an HGV were involved in the smash at 9.30am on Ladywell Avenue in Girvan near to the junction with the B741.The male driver of the van was rushed to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Police have confirmed that a dog that was also in the van has died as a result of its injuries.Police are now appealing for witnesses.Sergeant Craig Beaver said: “We’re aware there were a number of other vehicles in the area around the time of the crash, so are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
