Social media is filled with hacks and inspiration for ways to keep your house looking clean, tidy and organised. However a doctor has pleaded with parents to avoid one of the latest viral ideas, saying it could be fatal for children.

Dr Nicole Baldwin took to TikTok to share the chilling warning after seeing a number of videos on line. The one that particularly concerned her saw a woman decanting fabric softener into a pretty, decorative bottle that looks like a milk jug.

In a video, she says: "Wait, why are we pouring fabric softener into something that looks like a drink container? And now we are doing it with a fun, blue laundry detergent...oh my goodness. "If you have children, please please please do not do this." She later commented
