Doctor's surgery targeted as thieves steal lead from Callander practice roof

Police in Callander are appealing for information after thieves stole the lead lining from the roof of a GP surgery there.Thieves are believed to have struck at Callander Medical Practice earlier this month.Staff there last week discovered that all of the lead from the premises’ roof was missing.A spokesperson for the practice said: “It was discovered by estates on a routine inspection of fire doors/escapes and whilst inspecting the building he noticed it.“It appears to have happened sometime since beginning of the month.”The repairs to the roof have yet to be carried out and the theft had no impact or disruption to the service at the surgery.Detailing the incident on the Callander Medical Practice Facebook page last week, they posted: “A rather unusual post – we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious over the last week or so in or around the practice building.

All the lead from the building of the Medical Practice has been stolen.Click here for more news and sport from the Stirling area.“We are awaiting repair of this and the police have been informed.“If you saw anything or have any information please contact Police Scotland at the local police office or by dialling 101.”Following the theft, the roof appeared to still be water tight.A Police Scotland spokesperson this week told the Observer: “On Friday, September 9, we received a report of the theft of lead from Geisher Road, in Callander.“Enquiries are ongoing.”
