A Scots doctor has issued advice on the 'worst cold ever' sweeping the country - and has urged people to get tested for coronavirus twice a week.

The differences between the cold and Covid can be confusing as we are more hyper aware of illness than ever. How similar can Covid symptoms be to the horrendous cold - said to be the 'worst lurgy ever' - that is spreading around?

In fact, the official advice is for people to take rapid tests twice a week. The NHS reports one in three people with Covid do not have Covid symptoms - so it's never been more important to get tested..

Dr Chris Williams, joint chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners ( RCGP ), spoke to the Daily Record about the issue.
