Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have labelled Lilibet’s princess title a “birthright” in a new statement - and we want to know what YOU think.

It comes after the couple announced the christening of their one-year-old daughter on Wednesday, in a statement that called her the royal style.This marked the first time she has been publicly called a princess and confirms that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will use royal titles for their children.The royal family’s official website has also been changed to reflect that the children will use the titles prince and princess.

Archie and Lilibet are now listed as Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex. Under British royal protocol, both Archie and Lilibet are entitled to the titles as they are grandchildren of the monarch.They became eligible following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September - those born into senior positions of the royal family are automatically given titles.

A spokesman for Harry and Meghan said: "The children's titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch.This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace." It was unclear whether the children would receive titles due to the strained relationship between Harry and Meghan and the royal family, which was exacerbated by Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare.The couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to California, raising further questions about the children’s royal status.
