Leaving Archie and Lilibet out of his coronation plans could spell trouble for King Charles in the future, an expert has claimed. The coronation of the new monarch is fast approaching and is expected to draw the world’s elite to Westminster Abbey for the historic event.
Last week, the coronation plans were revealed, though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids were notably absent following the series of scathing remarks the Sussex’s launched at the royal family in their Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary and the Duke’s memoir, Spare. The gap between Harry and the rest of the family seems bigger than ever, which could be why his kids were not included in the plans.
Australian journalist Daniela Elser commented on the news in an opinion piece where she slammed the decision and suggested it could reflect poorly on The Firm. "The King has left his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lili out of his coronation plans.
And that is a huge mistake,” Daniela said. She continued to explain that those in attendance would be a “representative cross-section of a multicultural 21st century Britain." “Leaving Archie and Lili out of the whole three-day event makes something of a mockery of all that enthusiastic drum-banging about just how smashing this inclusiveness business is," she said. "How can the King bring a politically, culturally and socially fractured Britain together if he doesn’t even have it in him to bring all of his grandchildren together?" Daniela also noted how his grandchildren are completely “innocent” when it comes to the feud, and omitting them from plans only reinforces points made by Prince Harry and his wife.
