Police caught a group of seven people stopping off in Manchester during a road trip from Glasgow to London - despite the lockdown restrictions.
Inspector Jonathan Shilvock from Greater Manchester Police's city centre team shared details of the shocking incident on Twitter this evening.
Police intercepted two carloads of people in the early hours of this morning who travelling back to the capital having visited friends in Glasgow, he said.
They told officers they had decided to take a detour through Manchester 'for a drink'. The entire population has been under lockdown for several weeks in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.
