Dinosaur’s 100million-year-old lunch found perfectly preserved in its stomach

A dinosaur with massive armoured plates across its body has finally had its last meal revealed after it became mummified some 110million years ago.

Experts were able to learn about its last meal due to the rare way the contents in its stomach were preserved. When dinosaurs are found, occasionally seeds and branches have been found in their remains – but there was never solid proof they ate actual plants.

But, the muddy tomb that wrapped around and preserved this particular dinosaur so well that the contents of its stomach were also kept intact.

It was found the beast gorged on plants, namely ferns, which were discovered in its tummy. Experts say the chunk that resembled its stomach was about the size of a football.
