Everton boss Sean Dyche says he was perplexed by referee John Brooks’ decision to award Manchester City a penalty for handball against Everton midfielder Amadou Onana during Wednesday’s Premier League clash.

Onana was penalised after the ball struck his arm while in an unnatural position just past the hour mark. Julian Alvarez eventually stepped up to fire City ahead with goals from Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva seeing the visitors to a 3-1 win.

After full-time, Dyche shared his grievances with the handball law and mooted that “all” other top-flight managers, perhaps including Pep Guardiola, have vented their frustrations at it during calls with refereeing officials.
