Gary Neville told Diego Forlan he would be 'remembered for years' after scoring two goals for Manchester United against Liverpool.

Forland spent two-and-a-half years at United after signing from Independiente in the summer of 2002. The centre-forward won the Premier League and the FA Cup during that stint, making a total of 98 appearances, before switching to Villarreal in the summer of 2004.

However, when recently reflecting on his time spent at United, it wasn't the trophies he won that Forlan joked he would be remembered for.

That's because Forlan has recalled a message from Neville after he scored a brace against Liverpool at Anfield in a 2-1 win for United in 2002. "Everybody wants to win these games and it will definitely be competitive.
