Lewandowski became one of just three players to score 30 or more Champions League knockout goals in history when finding the back of the net for Bayern Munich.
The centre-forward's goal gave the German side the lead in their quarter-final second leg against Villarreal. That strike wasn't enough for Bayern Munich to progress.
Villarreal, who beat United in the Europa League final last year, scored a late equaliser at the Allianz Arena to win the tie 2-1 on aggregate, knocking Bayern out at the last eight stage. That means Lewandowski, Ronaldo and Messi are out of the Champions League as the competition reaches the semi-final stage.
Ronaldo scored six goals in seven Champions League appearances this season but that wasn't enough for United. United lost 1-0 against Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford last month, meaning their fate was sealed in the round of 16.
