Joe Otterson TV Reporter “Dexter: Resurrection” is bringing three franchise veterans into the fold. David Zayas, James Remar, and Jack Alcott have all been cast in series regular roles in the upcoming Paramount+ with Showtime drama.
They will now appear alongside Michael C. Hall, who will reprise the role of Dexter Morgan. Zayas will once again play Det. Angel Batista, while Remar will play Harry Morgan, the roles they played in the original “Dexter.” Alcott will play Harrison Morgan, Dexter’s son, who first appeared in the sequel series “Dexter: New Blood” in 2021.
Production on “Dexter: Resurrection” is set to begin in January with a planned debut in the summer. No specific plot details are available for “Resurrection,” but the series will serve as a direct followup to “New Blood.” In addition to his role in “Dexter,” Remar is known for his work in shows like “Sex and the City” and “City on a Hill.” He has also been in films like “Django Unchained,” “Oppenheimer,” “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” and “The Warriors.” He is repped by Gersh.
Zayas has also starred in shows like “Oz,” “Pose,” “Shut Eye,” and “The Bear,” as well as films like “The Interpreter” and “The Expendables.” He was also recently cast in the upcoming film “The Running Man,” He is repped by ATA Management, Buchwald, and Schreck Rose.
