Hall-led series came to an end in 2013 after eight seasons, the way it ended — killing Jennifer Carpenter‘s Debra and leading Dexter to live the life of a lumberjack — left many viewers unhappy.Original creator and showrunner Clyde Phillips, who exited the series after season 4, later shared that he had another ending in mind.“In the very last scene of the series, Dexter wakes up.
