One of Scotland's biggest egg farms has ceased trading, it was announced this morning.Lainshaw Farm Eggs had been involved in the egg business for almost 100 years.The Stewarton firm supplied many businesses including hotels, hospitals and convenience stores throughout the west of Scotland.A post on the company's Facebook page announced the news this morning with customers thanked for their support over the many decades they've been operating.The post read: "It is with much regret that we have made the difficult decision to stop trading.
A huge thank you to all of our customers for your continued support over the years, it really was appreciated."An outpouring of sympathy followed the update with dozens paying tribute to the firm.One person said: "Devastated to hear this.
Thank you for all of the years of support from all of us at Struther."Another wrote: "So sorry to hear this news. Another Stewarton institution bites the dust .
Thanks for all the years you have been here and all the very best for the future."It is unclear how many people worked at Lainshaw Farm Eggs or what sparked the closure.Lainshaw's website states that the company is award-winning and is renowned for its "fast and reliable" service..The site reads: "Our company has been involved in the egg business for over 95 years.
