Detectives launch appeal following robbery in Cumbernauld

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a premises on Main Road in Condorrat, Cumbernauld.Around 8.25pm on Wednesday, December 18, a man entered the premises and threatened a staff member, forced them to open the cash register and made off on foot with a sum of money, heading towards Condorrat Ring Road.Officers attended and a search of the area was carried out.

He spoke with a Scottish accent.Detective Constable Scott Archer, of Coatbridge CID, said: “Fortunately no-one was injured as a result of this incident, but it was an incredibly frightening experience for the staff member involved.“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we urge anyone who may have seen a man matching this description or noticed any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.“I would also ask anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dashcam to review their footage and share anything that may assist our investigation.“If you think you can help, please contact police on 101, quoting incident
