Demi Sims opens up on vitiligo battle - ‘I wouldn’t change it for the world, it’s made me a stronger person’
ok.co.ukStunning reality star Demi Sims has opened up emotionally about living with the skin condition, vitiligo - a condition in which the pigment is lost from areas of the skin, causing whitish patches, often with no clear cause.
Sharing two snaps of herself in swimwear on Instagram stories on Mon 25 June - on what was World Vitiligo Day, they clearly reveal white patches that can be seen across her body.
She proudly captioned the pics: ‘Happy World Vitiligo Day! I know I don’t show my vitiligo much on social media but that doesn’t mean it’s not with me every single day.” She added: “I wouldn’t change it for the world - it’s made me a stronger person.
It’s made me who I am.” It’s not the first time Demi has chosen to raise awareness of the condition, which model Winnie Harlow also suffers from.The former TOWIE star, who features in hit reality show The House of Sims with siblings Chloe, Charlie, Frankie, Demi, and Georgia, after they packed up their lives in Essex for sunny LA, was first diagnosed with vitiligo following a girls holiday at the age of 16.
