Marvel Studios and Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine has added to its list of records, now becoming the highest-grossing U.S.
R-rated movie ever on a global basis. Through Thursday, the Merc with a Mouth and the adamantium-clawed X-Man have grossed $1,085.6 million (or $1.086 billion) worldwide.
The breakdown is $516.8M from the domestic box office and $568.8M from international. Back in October 2019, when Joker was crowned the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, it did so by surpassing 2016’s Deadpool final of $783M (Deadpool 2’s $785M global gross includes $47M from its PG-13 holiday cut).
Either way, there’s a bit of turning tables going on here. The Ryan Reynolds– and Hugh Jackman-fronted threequel passed the $1B global mark last weekend, making it only the second U.S.
