‘Deadpool 3’ to Restart Filming Before Thanksgiving Following End of SAG-AFTRA Strike

Adam B. Vary Senior Entertainment Writer The Merc With a Mouth can speak again. After a four-month suspension due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, “Deadpool 3” will head back into production before Thanksgiving, a source close to the production has confirmed to Variety.

The Marvel Studios project reunites Ryan Reynolds both with his “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project” director Shawn Levy, and with actor Hugh Jackman, who will reprise his performance as Wolverine for the 10th time. (Reynolds originated the role of Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” and then rebooted the character with 2016’s “Deadpool.”) The project is one of the most high profile movies that had to suspend filming due to the strike, placing its scheduled release on May 3, 2024, into question.
