Although De Gea and Henderson are known to get along, their fight to become United's number one goalkeeper intensified last season with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemingly making his preference for the Englishman known before suddenly changing course.
The MEN understands the United boss will place his faith in Henderson as the club's first choice in goal and that neither keeper intends to warm the bench, although it seems highly unlikely De Gea will leave the club considering the state of play.
