Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. Elizabeth was born in London, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and she was educated privately at home. Her father ascended the throne on the abdication of his brother King Edward VIII in 1936, from which time she was the heir presumptive. She began to undertake public duties during the Second World War, serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. In 1947, she married Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, a former prince of Greece and Denmark, with whom she has four children: Charles, Prince of Wales; Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.

David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer, the current president of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies.

David Beckham pictured reading 'Keeping Chickens for Dummies' after another Knighthood snub

Victoria Beckham shared a photo on Instagram showing husband David looking pre-occupied and pensive as the England legend missed out on a knighthood once again.

The dad-of-four, who was was appointed an OBE for services to football in June 2003, and has made it clear he is keen to be known as Sir David Beckham one day - but the retired footballer is still waiting for his much-wanted knighthood from the British establishment.

Last night, the star was missing from the New Years Honours list - while other sporting heroes including Mary Earps and Peter Shilton were celebrated, The Mirror reports.

David's wife Victoria took to social media on Friday night to share a candid snap of her husband looking deep in thought while reading a book.
