Dave Grohl, Black Keys, Nile Rodgers, Hozier and More Help Raise $3.8 Million for Charity at Love Rocks NYC Annual Concert
variety.comJem Aswad Executive Editor, Music The Love Rocks NYC Benefit Concert has become an annual New York tradition and Thursday night’s show at the Beacon Theatre was one of the best on record, raising $3.8 million for the God’s Love We Deliver charity with performances and/or appearances from Dave Grohl, the Black Keys, Hozier, Nile Rodgers, Tom Morello, Don Felder, Bettye LaVette, Joss Stone, Allison Russell, Emily King, Marcus King, Lucius, Larkin Poe, Trombone Shorty, Luke Spiller, Quinn Sullivan, and Bernie William.
This year’s concert raised $3.8 million, which will allow God’s Love We Deliver to serve 380,000 meals for New Yorkers living with severe illnesses.
Since launching in 2017, the concerts have brought together a formidable lineup of talent, raising $33.8 million to date and helping to fund 3.8 million meals. “God’s Love We Deliver is unique in New York City – we are the only non-profit provider of medically tailored meals.
We started as an AIDS services organization nearly 39 years ago, and now we cook and home deliver medically tailored meals, to people living with more than 200 different diagnoses,” said CEO David Ludwigson.
