The groom’s speech is a staple of any wedding – and while Danielle Armstrong has admitted that her husband Tom Edney’s words left her in tears, she says he also made a very “naughty” confession. “Back in September 1999 we started at the same school and little did I know that my future wife would walk through the gates that day,” Tom said in the opening line of his wedding speech. "I’m going to cry all over again hearing it back!” Danielle, 34, tells OK!, as the newlyweds sat down to share their special day with us.

Following his heartfelt opener, Tom, also 34, went on to reveal an X-rated secret in front of their guests. “He was naughty!” Danielle says. “He said something that no one knew he was going to say. “Basically, when I was younger I hosted a house party when my mum and dad were on holiday. "As soon as he mentioned that, I knew exactly what he was going to say next.

But I was like, ‘Surely not – he’s not going to say this!’” Tom recalls: “I said, ‘I ended up staying over, but I won’t go into any details, I’ll leave it there.’ But I then said to her parents, ‘One thing I will say is that your bed is very comfy…’” Danielle says she had her head in her hands as her parents sat beside her. “The room just burst into laughter,” she says. “I couldn’t even look at my mum and dad!

But it was a good speech, he did very well. As did his best man and my dad.” Former Towie star Danielle and construction company director Tom, who are parents to two year old daughter Orla, tied the knot at country estate Ashridge House in Hertfordshire on Saturday 27 August in front of 100 guests. The stunning venue is set in 190 acres of stunning gardens, and Danielle says she knew it was “The One” as soon as she viewed it.
