Lorraine Kelly, 62, was shocked on this morning's instalment of Lorraine as her childhood friend Joyce appeared on the show.
Joyce shared a loving message about Lorraine along with throwback snaps of Lorraine, reducing the presenter to tears on her own show.Lorraine was rather confused this morning when Dr Amir Khan appeared, telling the presenter he was there for a special reason.A pre-recorded 'Friends for Life' video flashed up on screen, with Lorraine then realising it was her best friend Joyce.Lorraine and Joyce have known each other since the age of 12 and have remained the best of pals ever since.As Joyce spoke about their bond over the years, including Lorraine flying straight to Scotland as soon as Joyce's father died, Lorraine was seen wiping away tears.Joyce said: "We first met at school, which was almost 50 years ago."She was witty, she was cheeky, and she was a little bit of a rebel because whatever was happening in school, Lorraine liked to go her own path."She loved David Cassidy and the Osmonds and she was really into David Bowie."She continued: "I think we have got a really strong connection as we just refused to let the friendship melt away."I think a little a bit of it was I don't have a sister and she doesn't, so I think it's a sisterly connection with the good bits about being sisters."Lorraine laughed as they reminisced about their friendship and they went on to talk about their "legendary nights out" together and recalled dancing on tables."When we get together we just go mad, we inspire each other to be naughty, we just do," Lorraine joked.Lorraine added: "I cannot believe you have kept this from me, it's just astonishing."Childhood snaps of the pair then hit the screens with Lorraine reduced to.
